What a surprise!! There on the edge of the Mojave desert in the town of Boron is this tiny museum and inside of it is a rocket lovers dream. Huge ICBM missile engines, smaller rocket engines from many mysterious programs I have never heard about, an aluminum rocket engine like I have never seen as well as the latest technology composite rocket engines. I learned so much there. The place must be classified! There are models, flight suits and helmets as well as parts of the shuttle and Apollo rockets, an F-4 Phantom you can go up to and touch, an engine from the lagendary X-15 rocket plane as well as an engine used in the famous X-1 which Chuck Yeager first broke the sound barrier with. A supersonic parachute for Atom bomb deployment and missile parts. You cant believe some little town has all this hidden in the desert. It is within 100 miles of Los Angeles. if you are in Southern California and love aerospace history and hardware get over to this museum! There are also great small town restaurants within walking distance of the museum that are dirt cheap with great food.
