What a weekend..Ive been busy and singing almost the whole time. Luke Bryan and Music and Memories were both great. I enjoyed Me and Bobby McGee as well as Kevin Holton singing Great Balls of Fire. Last night I got my Shine On and crashed Lukes party as all have seen by my post. It seems everywhere I go I run smack dab into a tear jerker. While at the concert...there was a young man holding up a sign and speaking in a monotone voice. Sponsor a child and meet Thompson Square. As usual...when I feel the heart strings getting a tug. I make a joke...it that case I started talking like the man holding the sign and kept walking. When the concert was over I had to stop and see what this booth was all about. Tonight while talking to a couple of old friends from years ago..I found out one of my mothers faithful political supporters has cancer. He and mama had fought COPD together for a couple of years before she passed away. My first thought was...mama would be so upset. I plan to go visit tomorrow. Then I get in the car and see Go Team Mark Kellys post. I shift back to the kids. For more than 20 years kids have been my life. Ive learned by trial and error. Im sure Ive not pleased everybody...nobody has. We all make mistakes and work on not doing it again. I will never be tamed enough to support one cause. Kids are our future. They need to be cancer free. They dont need to be hungry or cold because they dont own a coat or a pair of shoes or socks. People need cancer research and help while fighting it to keep their lights and water on. Kids need Christmas presents under the tree. It dont matter who or why. God will sort all that out on judgement day. Until then I will continue my fight to save the world. My world consist mostly of people 4ft or under. Every single project Ive nose dived into I somehow involve a child in some way....by the way...while typing all this my stupid dog has went to visit the community calf. Wish me luck...Im going to get Cooper back home.
