What a wonderful birthday I had yesterday. For most of my life, as far back as I can remember, my birthday was the time when I counted my regrets, thinking about all the things I didnt accomplish, all of my screw-ups, all of the family members who looked down on me, were disappointed in me, or disapproved of me. Thankfully that has changed. Now I count my blessings, all the things in life Im grateful for, and can finally look forward to the future with excitement rather than dread. The birthday greetings I received from my Facebook friends all over the world mean a great deal to me-- I am glad to know all of you and glad that you are all in the world. Thank you so much for all your kind words! To celebrate another trip around the sun (thank you, Marcia Siggins Jonas!) I went on a really nice whale watching trip out of San Diego. We saw a few gray whales (including one breach, which I only got a partial shot of), thousands of leaping common dolphins, several cool U.S. Navy ships, and some really funny sea lions. I cant wait to see what this year has in store!
