What an eventful week. Eye surgery on Wednesday has left me with a very sore, black eye still on Saturday night. Thursday I had the pleasure of spending time with my great nephew Sawyer who put the pumpkins out in my front yard for Halloween. He was so excited. Emilee lay on Wanda Sues stomach sleeping! We get to watch her. dedication at their church tomorrow. My sisters and I were having birthday lunch and cake as a surprise for Wanda Sue on Friday as we spent the day together working on Christmas projects. On Thursday night after the kids left, I needed to do a load of laundry. I was sitting in the living room with Wanda Sue when I heard the water pouring out in the laundry area. My washer has an automatic locking lid. I pressed the stop button to cancel the wash. When I did, it automatically drained all the water out of the machine. Needless to say, water was everywhere. Wanda Sue stayed at my house while I was trying to get this under control. I had been waiting on her to go home Thursday night to bake her birthday cake for lunch the next day. I finally got to bed at 2:40 AM Friday morning. I set my alarm for 6 AM to get up and bake her cake. I knew everyone would be over before 8 AM. I needed to get the cake baked, decorated, and the house I aired out so you could not tell I had just baked a cake. So, I mopped my office with PineSol and had the attic fan going to distribute the PineSol scent throughout the house to cover the cake smell. I still needed to go to the store to pick up ice cream. I used the plumbing problems as an excuse to run to the store so I could pick up the ice cream and hide it in the freezer. We pulled off the birthday surprise for her and even grilled hamburgers and hotdogs. It was a great day even with the plumbing problems. The dryer sat in the middle of the floor where I pulled it out to get up the water. My nephew drove from Gainesvilles and came to my house to see what supplies he needed to replace all the drain pipes from my washer and kitchen under one end of the house to the other end. He had taken his son to the doctor that morning with both ears infected and bronchitis. Logan, my great nephew, was in my front yard, and his dad went to the door to check on him and I was by his side. When we opened the door, Logan handed me a pink Rose he picked it from my flower bed and said, here is a pretty flower for you. My heart melted. What a beautiful way to end a great day even as hectic as it was. My nephew came over Saturday, and he replaced all the drainpipe under my house. He had to cut out all the galvanized pipe which had been there over 60 years. He also put a remote for my fan and light in my living room. I had not had the light and fan installed but 13 months ago when the chain stopped working on Friday to the light. When I spoke to my older sister on the phone, my other great nephew, Shawn, was in the background saying I want to go see Ann Marie. Boy did that make me feel good. His mother and oldest brother were at the Aulbern football game. But, due to the plumbing problems, I did not get to see one of my other great nephews first football game of the season today. I called little William on the phone after the game and explained why I was not liar. He was so sweet about my missing his game. I cant wait to watch him play Monday evening. I will have my T-shirt on supporting his team. I am so blessed to have such wonderful nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews in my life. I miss spending time with the nine that live in north Georgia. I do not get to watch them play sports and be a part of their lives as much as I do the eight that live in the Columbus area. Lying here thinking how lucky I am to have such a wonderful family. Tomorrow will be awesome as a very special gift from God to Lisa, Jacob, and Sawyer is dedicated to the Lord. What a special day for Emilee! Tracy, Ken, Hunter, Shawn, Logan, Crystal, Matt, Ashlynn, Teagan, Lisa, Jacob, Sawyer, Emilee, Larry, Sarah, and William, I love you all very much. I am so very fortunate to have you in my life and to be Ree (thanks to Tracy). Leah, thank you for being so good to me with the kids.
