What an incredible run weve been on, hooking and landing multiple, quality fish each and every trip out for over a month and half now! The bite just doesnt get any better than it has been; after the poor weather of the first three months, we have been enjoying a rather extended, balmy stretch of classic Indian summer conditions here in Cape Cod. The fish are here in huge numbers, and providing excellent challenge and table fare for those lucky enough to get out and play lately. The bite has switched from the top water game of last week, to a vertical bite, and the fish are hammering the soft baits from RonZ Lures as well as the Point Jude Lures Deep Force metals, with the hot colors being pearl and blue. We have been hooking multiple fish every trip this week, with nice quality fish mostly 50-65 long, but a few larger have been fought, and of course we know whats swimming out there based on our results aboard the Dusky on Sunday. We also were fortunate enough to get two anglers their very first bluefin on two consecutive days, always a real charge to watch someone land their first bluefin, and making those types of memories is really what this is all about for this salty captain. Looking at all the huge smiles on all the anglers faces all over the water is a pretty cool thing, with people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds coming here to the Cape from all over the world. Getting a much needed break while Mother Nature flexes her muscles a bit the next few days...Im sure the bluefin need it too after the success of the fleet of late! Hoping that this little storm rolls by quickly and as quietly as possible, rest assured we will poke the bow out of the inlet to look around as soon as the conditions allow!
