What an invigorating Election Day it was on Nov. 4. Congratulations to all my fellow Conservatives, across the nation, who put their differences between themselves and certain Republicans who werent Conservative enough aside and voted for the best Republican on the ballot, up and down the ballot. This is how Republicans can continue to grow their majority in city councils, school boards, county boards of supervisors, state legislatures and, of course, the US Congress. Let the battles between the more Conservative and less Conservative Republicans get fought in the primary elections. Then, when supporters of the losing candidates in the Republican primary elections get on board and vote for the best Republicans on the General Election ballot, the most Conservative candidates on the General Election ballot, up and down every ballot, we can right the course, of our cities, counties and the nation. Conservatives did not do this, especially in the 2012 Presidential election, when many of them stayed home rather than vote for Republican Mitt Romney over concerns whether he was Conservative enough, Christian enough, etc. It is clear that Romney would have been a better President than Barack Obama, if for no other reason than Romneys love for this nation far, far exceeds any passion Barack Obama has for America. Of course, what really matters in politics and life is what one does following an error, and Conservatives demonstrated on Tuesday they have certainly learned from their mistakes of previous elections. Now a warning: Republicans/Conservatives now are the majority party, based on elected officials not population. Republicans took control of the US Senate, increased their majority in the US House of Representatives, increased their majority of Governors and in state legislatures. Things stabilized a bit, nationally, when Republicans took control of the US House of Representatives four years ago, and apparently Republican candidates across the nation got that point through to voters, in addition to pointing out that states with Republican governors and Republican legislatures are doing so much better, generally, than states that are ruled, politically, by Liberals/Progressives/Socialists/Democrats. The warning? Republicans must continue to get stuff done, listen to all views, then pass legislation that will be in the best interest of our nation. If President Obama wants to stonewall Congress over the next two years, that alone will be a key campaign issue that will benefit Republicans. I can see a Republican campaign slogan from 2016 now: Did you like the last eight years under President Obama? You will love Hillary Clinton. President Obama and Hillary Clinton are the same person, different genders, different skin tones, but same political agenda.
