What are UM alumni up to? James Grady ’72, Silver Spring, Md., is author of “Six Days of the Condor” and several short stories and books. James works with the PEN/Faulkner Foundations Writers in Schools program, which provides free copies of literary works for students in Washington, D.C., schools, and brings authors into classrooms to discuss their works with students. Earlier this year, James led a discussion via video conference of his novella, “This Given Sky” with 40 sophomores at Shelby High School, from which he graduated in 1967. He hopes this project will be model for future remote Writers in Schools visits.
