What are the accreditation standards private and public schools in Haiti must satisfy or fulfill in order to be accredited and keep their accreditation? With these institutions of learning popping up like mushrooms all across the country, we have got to be serious with the education of our future generations. Also, the notion that anybody -even the ones with just a high school diploma (Bacc 2), who could not be accepted at the State University of Haiti -can enter a classroom to teach has got to stop. These teachers must be prepared and certified to be allowed to teach students. Lets not forget that teaching is a science; therefore, you go to school to learn that. With a high school diploma, you cannot even be a substitute teacher in New Jersey; you have to have at least an associate degree or 65 college credits. With your high school diploma, the only thing you can be is a teachers aide. Thats it. Our education is in shambles. And you are wondering why a high percentage of our students plagiarize on these standardized state exams. It is because they are ill-prepared by ill-prepared teachers. The system is failing these students. When you fail these students, you contribute to the countrys failure as they are the future of our society. Mr. Nesmy Manigat, as education minister, you have a lot in your plate.
