What are the major social problems in India ? As a developing nation, India has observed endless social problems, one leading to the other. However, one major social problem is illiteracy. It is the sole cause of many other social problems like child marriage, poverty, child labour, gender discrimination so on and so forth. If this is not dealt with at an earliest, it will lead to many other social issues as well as it is and will continue to be a hindrance in development of the country.
