What are we protesting against? Muslims protesting the killing - TopicsExpress

What are we protesting against? Muslims protesting the killing of muslims in Palestine. Tamils protesting the killing of tamils in sri lanka. And the killing keeps repeating itself because rarely do people protest the killing of other people. We are offended only when the ones violated share some ideology with us. Are we protesting the killing of innocent humans or are we so shallow that we only protest when it comes to our own kind? The question is, If its the later, than isnt that what caused the killing in the first place? The us against them and not against whats right or wrong? The question becomes interestingly evident and more obvious when we see a civil war like the one in Syria. In the Syrian conflict it was interesting to see how both an instant enemy was created by both sides so that those with vested interest could further their aims. Overnight process. And in a week everyone was convinced it was righteous to die fighting for the cause. Forget the fact we are adding to the misery of the Syrians collectively. So coming back to my earlier point, which was misconstrued as sarcasm. What is it that we are protesting? Or do we just do this, just like how we do so many other things, by just following emotions and following the crowd? Do we even think as individuals anymore?
