What are you doing for California Bookstore Day? This is your chance to support your local indy bookstores. We suggest a bookstore crawl. Kind of like a pub crawl but easier on the liver. Heres what well be doing: 10am: Get here before we open! We will issue a five dollar trade slip for used books (Moe Money) to anyone who is waiting in line at the door. One reason to get here early: All those limited editions that weve been advertising are, well, limited. Theyll go fast! Books by authors who sent us limited editions will be discounted, also books by and about street photographer Vivian Maier! And throughout the day we will be handing out our book riot poster, free with any purchase. Noon til Six: More Moes, our fourth floor rare and art book room, will discount their entire stock by 20%! Looking for a graduation gift? 3pm: Tea time! Owner Doris Moskowitz is brewing an iced version of our famous Moes blend, served, of course with cookies. Have a snack with Doris and the staff. 5:30pm: Music by John Schott, our one man house band. johnschott/ 6pm: Meet Dave Eggers! He will be signing copies of The Circle, just out in paperback.
