What are your tactics for patrons who seem to have no idea what I want to read? I have some middle school kids who almost literally cant make up their minds about anything to read. I suggest genres or authors popular with their peers, I suggest subjects areas that tend to be popular (I.e. Sports, space, cooking, etc.) But I still have some kids who just say they dont like anything I mention, dont make any attempts to offer suggestions for things they might like, and also dont seem capable/interested in seriously browsing for anything. I just had a kid in here for a good ten minutes who responded to everything with either No or I dont know or a blank stare at the wall. How do you combat this?! Ugh. Makes me want to rip my hair out.
