What better time than Thanksgiving to acknowledge the volunteers - TopicsExpress

What better time than Thanksgiving to acknowledge the volunteers who have made the Lil 2nd Hand Shop such an outstanding success. In less than 2 1/2 years we have logged more than 4,395 hours and raised an incredible $43,300.00. Thank you to the original four, Linda Bolton, Joan Thue, Eileen Anderson and the late Pauline Loiselle who jumped in where others feared to tread and each committed to one day a week. Thank you Maurine Carles, Barb Segel, Claire Labbee and Leslie Gabriel who also subsequently made that commitment. Thank you back up volunteers, Marie Verot, Betty Deshors, Loretta Fuhro, Pam Bohay, Carter Carles, May Pierce, Joanne Carles, Bev Pirio, Betty Poteur who never fail us when we need them. Thank you Gayle Holzer for keeping a meticulous record of every dollar earned and singing the cheques to receiving organizations. Thank you Eveline Riviere, Donna Jordan, Mary Jane Fradette, Sharon Galarneau, Elsie Wimmer and Brenda Doud for the many hours cooling your heels in the Christmas Store. Also Brenda for painting our sign. Thank you Vic Verhelst and Ed Bolton for you unwavering help and support. Know we appreciate all that you do. Thank you Dave Bellevance, Sonny & Brian Vandesype, Gene Deshors, Phil Aylward for coming to the rescue when the pipes froze, the roof leaked, the toilet plugged, the shelves crashed. Thank you everyone who helped build the garage, especially Dawn & Rick Ricard. You overwhelmed us with the many hours you donated to the build. Thank you Lawrence Prost, Sheldon Bolton, Harvey Crone, Ed Vandenhurk, Doug Bella, Martin Gilmore, Lionel Fradette, Rick Fillion. Thank you Perry Verhelst, Max Thompson, town employees for clearing all that snow so we could access the back lane. Thank you Rob Verhelst for turning chaos into order in the garage when it threatened to overwhelm us. Thank you Brent Loewen for the generous donation of your building, town council, all who have donated and continue to donate, our faithful customers for your continuous support and the good people in Ogema & Bengough thrift stores whose models we emulated. You unselfishly responded to our inquiries as we took those tentative first steps and gave us the courage to take the concept to fruition. Others, too have helped along the way. A heartfelt thank you and happy Thanksgiving......Jeannette Verhelst, volunteer store co-ordinator
