What can I say about four years ago today? I was younger, definitively thinner, the grey wasnt quite so bad in my hair... It was a time that was unlike any other. This day four years ago, my wife, our three children at the time and her mother and father braved two rain wrapped tornadoes on a 2 hour car ride to a state where we could begin a bigger journey. One that was longer, definitively harder and more fulfilling in life. As we all got ready that morning stress was high, cramped in two hotel rooms we slept, well the kids slept, our nerves were too awake, would the cake be okay? As we hadnt seen it finished yet, was it really going to be THAT hot?! Crap, is my eyeliner going to melt and ruin my pictures? Should I have worn a dress? No I hate dresses, and my flip flops fit perfect! Four years ago today I walked through a parks entrance with my hand intertwined with the person I chose to live my life with. I asked myself over and over that morning if we were doing the right thing, were we ready? The answer is undeniably. Ive never met another soul that has pushed me so hard to be better, that has loved me so completely despite my faults. Ive never had something so beautiful I could hold close As I do with her. She is my rock, she is the reason for my waking and for every beat my heart takes. Without her I am nothing but with her everything is possible. I love you Amy Stumpf, thank you for helping me be me. Thank you for choosing life with me. I cant imagine mine without you. Happy Anniversary my love!
