To launch in Maputo and surrounding Bay areas like Macaneta you have to do the following: 1- By Maritime Law you MUST have your boat Safety Inspected at the INAMAR HQ or make arrangements for the Port Officials to come to one of the three Boat Clubs in Maputo and have it done. You will be charge for this COMPULSORY Safety Inspection. 2- After this Fiscal Safety Inspection you will be issued with a Navigation Certificate. You will be charged for this as well. 3- If engaging in any fishing - Each person on the boat over 12 years MUST have a Mozambican Fishing License that you must pay for. 4- All these documents MUST be on your boat when at Sea. WHY AM I POSTING THIS AGAIN I just received a call from INAMAR that a boat was caught by City Municipal Police launching ILLEGALLY at the Fishing Village just North from Costa do Sol. The three people have now been transported to INAMAR to be processed and FINED. I have no words anymore - TRULY and HONESTLY. In the same breath I want to compliment Lester Mouton - Lester Mouton from TAN n BIKI lodge on Macaneta that he resisted the owner of the boat that is a guest with him since yesterday to launch until all is done legally. The Cabo do Mar could not reach Macaneta today because the Ferry is out of order again. I made arrangements with Lester to assist tomorrow morning first thing to obtain all documents from INAMAR and Fisheries Department for his guest and the other lodge guests that will be arriving with their boats today. Lester - I ask for your assistance now to contact the Lodges on Macaneta and inform all that the 4 Marine Coastal Vessels will be patrolling the Maputo Bay & Inhaca Island all weekend. Boats will be impounded IMMEDIATELY if the above documents are not on the boats.
