What can you achieve without the quality of inwardness - the ability to spend time within your own mental space, observing yourself and ordering and examining your own thoughts? Its the beginning of spiritual development, and also the source of creativity and analytical thought. Unfortunately modern culture encourages us to spend all our time outside ourselves, with our attention immersed in distractions, entertainments and activities. But you dont have to co-operate with the culture you live in.
