What can you say! On 3rd September, a couple taking a stroll - TopicsExpress

What can you say! On 3rd September, a couple taking a stroll along a Sparkbrook canal, heard a quiet whimpering sound coming from some undergrowth. They went to investigate, they found a hole approx 4ft deep, which had been covered in leaves and twigs. They removed the debris and they were shocked by what they saw. A small dog at the very bottom, a dog with its neck, front & back legs tethered together. They managed to get the dog out of the hole and untied him. They then took this little dog home, where they have cared for him unaware of the stray dog procedures. Yesterday they took this dog to the PDSA for a check over explaining they had found the dog. PDSA advised them to contact the dog wardens and thats what they did this morning. Thankfully we have a very good rapport with Birmingham dog wardens, they checked our lost records and made the match for 13 years old missing Harvey. Harvey has now been reunited with his very relieved owner. We dread to think what his fate would have been had that couple not heard Harveys cries. Harveys owner has asked us to publish this story, he is asking everyone to protect their dogs, not to leave them vulnerable, to permanently identify their dogs, take care of your four legged friends. And one final thing, to all finders, find a stray dog, report it to the area dog warden as soon as possible. Dont be tempted to keep a stray, it probably has a home and an owner praying for its return. Harvey had been missing for 14 days, went missing on 2nd September14 and found on the 3rd.
