What day is it? Why...today is... * Stephen F. Foster Memorial Day! Born on July 4, 1826, Stephen Foster became known as the father of American Music. Foster wrote over 200 songs in his short life. His best-known compositions are “Oh! Susanna,” “Camptown Races,” “Old Folks at Home,” “My Old Kentucky Home,” “Jeanie with the Light Brown Hair,” “Old Black Joe,” and “Beautiful Dreamer.” and are still very popular today. Foster died on January 13, 1864 at the age of 37. * National Rubber Ducky Day! Rubber ducky has been a tubby buddy since the 1940s, but he really hit the big time in the 1970s when Jim Hensons muppet creation, Ernie, had a hit with the song Rubber Duckie. Ducky has been in the limelight ever since. So...when you take your bath this morning...dont forget your bath time buddy! * International Skeptics Day! Or is it. Really.
