What do we do when it seems like our life is on hold? When the stock market tanks, we call it a correction or an adjustment. When housing sales fall by 28%, we call it a correction or adjustment. Did you know when our lives get put on hold, we should also call that a correction or an adjustment. But we seldom do. We call it a disaster or a train wreck. We blame others and we question God. We panic, we complain, we backslide, we take things into our own hands, and God only knows what else. When we find one or more areas of our lives on hold, it is a real test. These times are character builders, faith builders, times of growth, but nevertheless one of the most difficult seasons we have to endure. What do we do? Prov 3:5-6 5 Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. 6 In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths. This is tough. It means that in everything I declare Him in sovereign control. Trust him with all my heart. No doubt, no wavering, no double mindedness. This is the standard. When our lives are on hold we must believe His promises and not panic. It means I won’t prop myself up on anything but Him, and I will rest my whole being in Him. I will declare that He is at work in my situation, that He is adjusting my attitudes and motivations, and that He is making me ever more dependent upon Him. God is never in a panic. I must remember He wants me to receive all He has planned for me more than I want it. I must watch what comes out of mouth. Speak to yourself faith and not unbelief. There is great power in what comes out of our mouth. Place Him on the throne of your life in word and in action
