What do you do for pain? I mean really severe pain! Im getting older, and Im feeling all the joys of falling down, playing tackle football with buddies without gear...ect. Worst I have it is what looks to be a compressed nerve in one leg due to a car accident many years ago. But really, Im not writing this post for or about me. Its for my wife. She has severe chronic lower back pain. Bulging, herniated discs, a fractured vertebrae. and a list of Greek words a mile long according to her doctors deposition for SSI disability. Current pain relief comes in pill form of hydrocordadone (Norco). Basically codeine mixed with accedaphidamine. (Please excuse spelling errors, spell check isnt working right and I havent had any coffee yet!) The Norco has two failings. Once it wears off the pain comes back ten fold! Doctors have had her one it for so long she has to double up on dosage for it to have any effect anyways. The accedaphidamine (Tylenol) will eventually destroy her liver as well. I dont want to get on a soap box or start a debate of a different color, but one option weve thought of is to move to a state where theyve realized there are certain herbal pain relievers that work much better then what is created in a lab someplace. (hint: California, Colorado, and Washington). A little more then a year ago, I did a lot of research on digestive issues. I was fighting diverticulitis, and nothing the doctors gave me seemed to help. I was able to slow it down some with ginger/chamomile tea, but that was a stop gap at best. Surely there is something I can do for my wife!!!!
