What do you think of this statement: Its not that out of work - TopicsExpress

What do you think of this statement: Its not that out of work benefits are too high, its that in work wages are too low especially after tax. (remembering that we have established multiple times that the welfare bill is a tiny figure compared to tax avoidance and MPs salaries and expenses etc) Should we call for a higher minimum wage? A living wage of £7.50 per hour or more plus a cap on rents that a landlord can charge... That would resolve some of the issues. (Along with scrapping Atos, bedroom tax etc.) If we raise minimum wage, the average household income would increase and benefits would increase accordingly. What do you think we should call for? Would you support a call for a raise in the minimum wage?
