What does it mean to be reasonable? The Greek word usually translated “reasonable” literally means “yielding.” A reasonable person does not insist on always holding to the letter of the law, nor is he unduly strict, stern, or harsh. Rather, he strives to be gentle in his dealings with others, taking into consideration their circumstances.
