What happened to good music? I hear people say, Music just isnt what it used to be? They are right. Its not what it used to be. Today we have more technology and less musicianship. Where are the great musicians? Well, they had to get real jobs. They cant spend their lives working on their craft, their gift...because they have to eat. They have to work a 40 hour week just like everyone else, then go to band practices, rehearsals, and gigs. They have to buy equipment, gear, instruments, PA, lighting, trailers, transportation, gas, etc. They have to try to sell CDs while people download, copy, and steal what they worked to create. Then they drive who knows how many miles to a gig, just to make $50-$100 a night. Since most places dont do live music daily...that leaves about 3 days for playing out. So what happened to the good musicians? The people stealing music and club owners told them their dream isnt worth pursuing, because they cant make a decent living doing what they love to do...what we want them to do. Its a good thing young people like produced music. When they get old, that will be all thats left.
