What happens when the mining boom ends? Why is homelessness increasing in the midst of unprecedented prosperity? Have we left it too late to do anything about climate change? WA2.0 hits the reboot switch: it is deliberately provocative and ambitious, setting out to demonstrate how to meet the challenges of our age head-on while leaving no-one behind. We won’t get there without a serious commitment to social equality, progressive economic reforms and a big investment in education. This event will traverse breakthroughs in utility-scale renewable energy, green innovations in affordable and modular housing, sustainable farming, urban planning that rebuilds community and ecology, climate security and the opportunities and risks of ubiquitous telecommunications.
