What has happened in Ottawa today, and the Canadian Soldier killed - TopicsExpress

What has happened in Ottawa today, and the Canadian Soldier killed yesterday has made me do some thinking. So I thought I would share. I know this is long. Read if you want. Or dont. I dont care. As humans we wake up in the morning unsure of what the day will bring. We wake up, we are alive and we have that much to be thankful for. But it is something that many of us take for granted. Each and every one of us, no matter our nationality, our gender or our culture, wakes up in the morning completely unaware of how lucky we truly are. There is no denying the fact that some of us have had more luck then others and that some of had more opportunities. But we are all living and breathing people, taking this great big world for granted. How many of you woke up this morning and said, wow I am lucky? I know that I didn’t. But now as I sit here struck with tragedy, and full of fear, I am reminded of how lucky I am. I am a proud and passionate Canadian that believes in good for all people, unless they do something is wrong. I try to stand up and say what I believe in. But I never tell people enough that I love them. And I don’t think you do either. Tell your family, your significant other and your goddamn pet how much you love them! Realize that this is your life, and we are all given the opportunity to do something great with it. Do it today, do it right now. Say what you are feeling, stand on your balcony, on the roof, or on your front lawn and scream, let go of the past, forget about the future because all we have is right now and we are not given tomorrow, nor the next hour. Today, in a moment of tragedy, we were reminded that this is our life, and we cannot waste a single moment of it. We all have a little evil in us, but hopefully that evil is succumbed by the amount of good that we have in our hearts. We get mad at each other, we fight with one another, sometimes we are bullied and sometimes we bully. But when tragedy strikes, we are compassionate and we stick up for what we know and believe in. We are individuals that have an idea, for the most part, of what is right and what is wrong. Everyone is allowed to have his or her own opinions, but when something happens to one of our own we stand up, united and we defend. Everything outside of the world starts to disappear, and there is only one thing that truly matters, and that is each other. So right now, while tragedy has struck Ottawa, and it is sad and scary, let’s look around – see our flag fly, in the wind, and be reminded that we will not be stopped by this or anything else in the future. We stand on guard for thee. We are all brothers and sisters, we are Canadians. We are maple syrup drinking, saying sorry too much, polar bear riding Canadian’s and right now, with our family to the south, we are united. In this moment, and always, people are equal, and we are together on this, for now and forever. My thoughts and prayers are with the Canadian Soldier that lost his life today. I am thankful for everything he did for this great country I call home. But let his life and now his legacy be a reminder that there is no time like the present. Let’s not dwell on the past – and don’t you EVER take you life for granted because you never know when your life will be taken away from you. Don’t spend your life thinking what if? Don’t spend your life sad and alone, make the most of this life. Some days are hard and we are allowed to have our moments. But have your moment and move on, leave it in the past. If you are feeling alone right now, or maybe even scared, remember that there are people that care. Trust me on this. ——— now go out and live your life, be free, be careful, love deeply,
