What if -- forever really meant forever. Today I will do - TopicsExpress

What if -- forever really meant forever. Today I will do something I seldom do. Post a definition: Forever: for a limitless time -- sounds simple. I was reading in 2 Samuel (Shmuel Bet) the seventh chapter. King David ask Natan the prophet about building a house for Adonai. At first Natan tells David go for it -- Adonai is with you. Later Adonai would speak to Natan again. Verse 12) When your days come to a end and you sleep with your ancestors, I will establish one of your descendants to succeed you, one of your own flesh and blood; and I will set up his rulership. 13) He will build a house for my name, and I will establish his royal throne forever. Reading just a bit further; 16) Thus your house and your kingdom will be made secure forever before you; your throne will be set up forever. David was king over all Israel and Judah for 40 years. So the king of Israel and Judah was probably a Jew. The scriptures tell us how David danced before the ark of the covenant. And just after Natan prophesies, David prays a wonderful prayer of thanksgiving before the L-rd. Many times in the scriptures we see where men and women hear the voice of G-d. In the Brit Hadashah (New Testament) we hear of the disciples laying hands on people and speaking in tongues -- pretty sure the disciples were Jewish men. Going anywhere with this -- you ask? Yes, I dont hide the fact that I attend a Messianic Jewish congregation. I am continually asked, Do they believe in the gifts of the spirit? Or Im glad to hear they believe in the fruits of the spirit. My response is -- good grief -- they are G-ds chosen people. They wrote the bible. After I had made this statement today, I had a person tell me, Be careful Im [I have a Pentecostal license to preach, so lets say] Pentecostal! Goodness, does a statement like this say, I am above G-ds chosen people, G-ds plan for His creation. Or, Im right because of my doctrine [based on the teaching of men]. Again, the Word tells us, I will bless those who bless them and I will curse those who curse them -- speaking about Israel. Our Messiah is established from the line of the son of David, son of Avraham -- Matthew 1:1. So most likely Yeshua is a Jew. I really dont think in heaven there will be a sign that says Baptist over here, Methodist over there. My heart tells me one nation, one tribe with Yeshua Messiah as our King -- forever! I guess this has turned into a rant by now! Forgive my passion -- I guess what really helped open my eyes to doctrine of men was when I attended my conferences spring meeting. Leaders of the conference were praising their denomination, the fathers of their denomination, and the role of their denomination. Not one word was spoken about the patriarchs (Abraham, Isaac, or Jacob) or credit to the Son (Yeshua). Forever is really forever -- a limitless time!! There is only one way to the Father and thats thru the Son -- Yeshua Messiah. Man made religion wont cut it! Only, the teachings of our G-d lead to a eternal (forever) life. Shalom
