What is Kombat Conditioning? When looking for general fitness, - TopicsExpress

What is Kombat Conditioning? When looking for general fitness, all programs can be valuable. Essentially any exercise curriculum can be programmed to develop some degree of cardiorespiratory endurance, muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, and body composition. The options are endless. Training an athlete is a little more complex. By definition an athlete is a participant in a competitive sports arena. Their training goes beyond basic fitness goals and an approach to develop the traits of agility, power, explosiveness, and movement skills is necessary. The goal of the athlete is to win something. Although a degree of personal risk may be present in sports, the ultimate goal is scoring points. A high degree of ambition can drive an athlete to train to an elite level. But rarely is sheer survival the goal or necessary. The concept of the tactical athlete is new and under-developed. In summary, it suggests that public servants with occupations of physicality (police, firefighters, military, and medics) should be physically conditioned as athletes as opposed to traditional general fitness. It recognizes that simple strength and endurance training is not enough and the additional skills of athleticism are key in improving their work capacities. The term “warrior” is over-used to the point of cliché. By our definition, a warrior is one who fulfills the servant role of facing and overcoming conflict in defense of self and others. Conflict is a broad term that suggests combat. Although many of whom we consider warriors are combatants, actual engagement with a human enemy is not necessary. Anyone in a rescuer role could be defined as a warrior. However, to fulfill his duties, a warrior’s personal risk is elevated to the point of death. Unlike an athlete, the warrior’s goal is not just to win…it is to live…to survive, and/or to ensure the survival of others. In fact one may lose the conflict but survive and protect, which is still a success. The safety and prosperity of self, family, and community is the reward of the warrior. In training and preparations, the warrior has the mindset of training to live, not win. This takes intensity to another level. The physical challenges are beyond rigorous. The boundaries of safety are challenged to condition the warrior’s body, mind, and spirit for the conflictive arena. Extreme training is necessary to develop the conditioning, discipline, and composure to achieve survival. “Out of the comfort zone” is an understatement. At Warrior Conditioning & Athletics, we offer a training program designed to condition and develop warriors. We target tactical athletes with the discipline, motivation, and responsibility to train for survival. Those that know their lives, their families, and their communities depend on them to be in elite physical condition. The program is not apologetic. There is nothing easy here. Your boundaries will not be pushed or challenged…they will be crossed. The program is scalable for all fitness levels and skill sets, but by everyone’s definition it will be intense and tough. Although the tactical community is the target, anyone willing and committed to truly go beyond is welcome. Sure you train…everyone does…but are you a warrior?!?
