What is it with people hating on other people for having pride & love for their culture? Why should a person not be into their culture? If youre connected to it dont be ashamed of that. See, we African-Americans (born in the USA & some of us in the Caribbean) have some what of an excuse because we were forced to sever our ties & had our many cultures erased. Those of us who they call conscious latch on to all of the cultures because most of us dont really know which one is actually ours, so we embrace it all. Some of call that Vanglorious. But no one else in my opinion doesnt have a real excuse. Its a little irritating hearing someone with a different accent than their ethnicity, knowing that at home their culture & accent is thicker than a London Fog. Stop trying to assimilate; have your own identity. Have your Italian Heritage Day; your Chinese New Year; your Caribbean Festival. I dont want to go to Sydney, Australia & see all Kentucky Fried Chicken. The thing that makes this planet wonderful is its diversity. I wish its people recognized that in themselves and celebrated it.
