What is the biggest single problem facing our beloved Sierra Leone and our beloved Kono today? In my mind, the biggest single problem facing our beloved country today is that our elected and appointed officials have become overbearing and out of control. In our beloved Kono, the biggest single problem is the silence of our representatives in Parliament. The eight toothless, drunken politicians representing Kono District in Parliament are cheerleaders for the central government. The eight world class boozehounds from Kono sleeps in Parliament, while MPs from other parts of the country are focused on bringing back goodies to their districts, ensuring that their constituents receive a fair share of the national cake. Wake up boozehounds aka Parliamentarians, Kono needs real leadership. It’s time for the people of Kono to rise up and say: ENOUGH! It’s time to change the way we (the people) deal with these out of touch politicians. The old men running our district and country have run out of ideas. It’s time to give women the much deserved opportunity to lead. Women have the experience to take care of their people/country like taking care of their children. We’re being failed by our old men of politics. Our people have spent decades, lifetimes, with the same issues. We need women and upright young men to solve our unending problems, and bring our beloved district and country back from the brink. Kono will rise again, God willing!
