What is the difference between Love and Compassion. While thinking about this I realised that Love is just a subset of Compassion. If you awaken compassion within yourself then love comes along with it. Compassion has a far deeper, a more spiritual meaning attached to it, if one may say so. If you are a heart person then compassion will come more easily to you. Compassion actually includes love, tenderness, kindness, kindheartedness, sympathy, empathy, pity, feeling, fellow feeling, understanding, care, concern, solicitude, solicitousness, sensitivity, tender-heartedness, soft-heartedness, warm-heartedness, warmth, love, brotherly love, gentleness, mercy, mercifulness, leniency, lenience, tolerance, consideration, kindness, humanity, humaneness, charity, benevolence amongst others. When compassion is awakened you begin viewing everybody without any eye or mind filters - everyone and everything appears same to you. That feeling of compassion gives you an internal glow which is very difficult to fathom, but once you experience it you will wonder have you have lived so long without such a feeling. Jai Baba Swami
