What is the hope that you will enter Heaven? It was indeed a life transforming testimony shared by Bro Gbile Akanni. I was under his ministration few days ago when he shared with us how he encountered Jesus. As a muslim then, he was busy washing his hand and feet as usual, when he heard a voice speaking to him what is the hope that after doing all this regular washing of hand and feet, you will enter heaven? According to him, he said the question became a burden in his heart that he had to enquire from his leader. Funny enough, his leader said to him that he doesnt know, that even his suprerior doesnt know too, that they are living according to what they were taught. On hearing this, he was shocked! And immediately, he broke his fast, and began to ponder on those words. Ever since that day, he chose not to continue with them since there was no hope of getting to heaven with all that. Today, he is a great man of God who teaches the word of God with passion, infact when you listen to him, your heart will be broken. All through the conference, I was soaked with tears, that I have to upgrade my Christian life. He is a father indeed. Have you been deceived? Have you been following the teachings of men, leaders, pastors, prophets, name it? You can never get the genuine truth if you havent encounter Jesus personally. The people you listen to, are they not humans like you? Who told you only them are privilege to learn about God? Who told you you cant become like Christ? Who told you you cant do all what your leaders do? I want you to ask yourself that same question, what is the hope that after doing all what you were taught to do, you will enter heaven? When you encounter Jesus, nobody will tell you what is right or wrong, He will reveal the whole truth about himself to you as you grow in Him. It wasnt the preaching of men that converted me, but an encounter with Him, afterall, I have been a pastors son for years but was still living in sin. So whether you call yourself a christian, muslim, whatever your religion, whatever your believe, I want you to encounter Jesus personally, so that you wont be decieved by false doctrines and teachings. We are all sons and daughters of God, so we are equally privileged to hear from God just like any of our leaders. Having people we listen to is ok atleast for an upbringing, but as time goes on, we should try to find out on our own if their teachings are right or wrong, this is why a personal encounter is very important. Cos the judgement of God is personal. Why dont you tell God, Lord or whatever you call Him, I want to know you more, I want to encounter you so that I wont be deceived by men, I want to know if Im on the right track. Reveal yourself to me, make me experience you personally. When you speak out to Him, He will surely find a way to talk to you. Just be patient with Him and continue saying it every day until He speaks to you. May God help us all. Amen
