What is tribalism? According to Wikipedia: “Tribalism is the state of being organized in, or advocating for, a tribe or tribes. In terms of conformity, tribalism may also refer to a way of thinking or behaving in which people are more loyal to their tribe than to their friends, their country, or any other social group”. A very good example of tribalism is when Igbo criminals like armed robbers and kidnappers moved en masse into Yorubaland to steal, kill and maim Yoruba citizens and residents without the Igbo residents in Yorubaland openly condemning these actions but when the Yoruba governments ‘deport’ these criminals, these same Igbos who had refused to denounce the criminal activities of their own people, openly speak out against the action of the Yoruba government. E.g. Governor Peter Obi petition to President Jonathan against Governor Babatunde Fashola, for deporting Igbo criminals from Lagos State, Yorubaland to Anambra State in Igboland. #JustSoYouKnow
