What kind of society do you want to live in? While this government is in, we need to discuss and decide what kind of society we want to live in. When I look at the protest signs, I see that people want a caring, humane society, that is fair, takes care of the young and old, and promotes health for all as well as a good education system and a healthy environment. We march for equality. We march to be a compassionate nation on the global stage. Every time we march, the signs people write become the foundation of what we want. And every time they get air or internet play. People and the politicians see them. Then it is discussed. This government has done one good thing without even realising it. With its disastrous policies in every aspect - health, disability, inequality, education, welfare, environment, trade, business and corporation, it has made Australians realise that the current governments path is not the path that we want to travel down as a nation...when we March against the government, we march towards the kind of reforms we want. Without realising it, we are determining what kind of society we want. Throughout history, people have changed societies by marching against the government. Protesting this government is changing the way we think about what we want as a nation. And it is showing the other powers that be what we want...that is change.
