What runs in the political parties of India? The Dilemma we always - TopicsExpress

What runs in the political parties of India? The Dilemma we always face, and questions that are never answered: There are allegations of tampering with EVMs by the ruling BJD in Odisha. BJP is making the allegations, and after talking to locals in Kendrapada, and applying reasons based on incidences of past, I feel there is some conspiracy going against senior BJP leader Bijaya Mahapatra. But, will the Election Commission do an inquiry into the matter? Even if it does, will that be fair?? I have my doubts. And, suppose we get the rare opportunity of getting a fair and independent inquiry and the guilt is proved. Who would be punished? The District Election Officer and a few more local officials? Or, the Chief Minister of Odisha?? Now, while we keep pondering on these questions, lets assume that a scenario emerges in national politics where BJP gets the numbers to be invited to form the government but finds itself lacking and thus not able to form it alone. There are assumptions already that BJD may become an ally in NDA. And we have every reasons to believe this would happen. Would then BJP at center go ahead with the inquiry at all? Ok, lets now assume that the above equations come true and an inquiry is done and the guilt is proved. Will the Chief Minister of Odisha ever be punished? Then, suppose Congress gets the number of seats to be invited to form the government at Centre with its coalition partners. Would BJD allying with Congress be an impossibility? Now, even if BJD does not ally with UPA and an inquiry is done and guilt is proved; would that mean the Chief Minister would be punished? These assumptions work or not, I am sure of one thing that the Chief Minister will never be punished. The officials will be sacrificed for his misdeeds, even if proved. I am also sure that the same BJP, which is now complaining against the BJD, will not even inquire into the matter if it has to depend on BJDs support to form the government. The local leader of the same party can be ignored for the sake of forming the government. This is the dilemma we have been facing with all these parties actually. They can do everything that is possible, including sacrificing their own loyal people, to stay in power. And, our questions would never be answered; nor will the real Heads roll.
