What started as a theological endeavour to produce a unified answer against apostasy in 1906 descended in less than 100 years to a cultural phenomenon that has separated itself from the world so much that it possesses no real theological power or genius. Fundamentalism, with a few exceptions, has ceased to be a theology at all and instead has become a culture of radical political conservatism, Rapture fascination, and a works-oriented outlook that can no longer muster a grass roots comprehension among its own adherents of the vital truths of Scripture it was born to defend.
