Job Duties •Establish and maintain stock records and other documents such as inventory, material control, accounting and supply reports •Review and verify quantities received against bills of contracts, purchase requests and shipping documents •Unload, unpack, count, segregate, palletize and store incoming supplies and equipment •Construct bins, shelving and other storage aids •Simplify and standardize the collection and use of maintenance data •Raise the quality and accuracy of performance, cost and parts data through improved maintenance management Requirements Those who want to serve must first take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery, a series of tests that helps you better understand your strengths and identify which Army jobs are best for you. Training Job training for an automated logistical specialist requires 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 12 weeks of Advanced Individual Training with on-the-job instructions. Part of this time is spent in the classroom and part in the field, including practice in handling and storing stock. Some of the skills you’ll learn are: •Stock control and accounting procedures •Procedures for shipping, receiving, storing and issuing stock •Movement, storage and maintenance of ammunition •Procedures for handling medical and food supplies
