What was I saying this morning about Never judge a book by its cover Lorraines story below is a great example of this and many other things. Mental health and running go beautifully hand in hand and at our running club I actively want to encourage those who are having mental health difficulties to feel they are included 110% - it could be any of us. Running helps so many aspects of mental health issues - we must continue to make this known and to speak about it. I am really passionate about this. Status Update By Lorraine Ross Today I ran alongside this gentleman, (50ish) he was coaching me, never met him before, he kept me going for a few miles, I was some what confused as to why he kept shouting out random words, look out love, police! There were no police. I found him interesting, he was being my coach for that day and nothing would stop him. He turned to me and thanked me several times. I asked Why thank me, Ive done nothing.he replied because youve given me your time and your not judging me. He jogged on and I read the back of his tshirt.... Mental health awareness (or similar). Today he was a coach, today I helped someone. I thank that man for being my coach, I knocked 4 mins off my last half marathon.
