What will you do if you were on a SHIP and the SHIP is SINKING? What if your whole family is with you in the SINKING SHIP, what would you do? What if you were the CAPTAIN of the SHIP, what would you do? Your answer probably on the first question is, you get a lifejacket and take onboard on a lifeboat to save your life. And your answer probably on the second question is, you will save yourself and your family who is with you onboard on a lifeboat. But what if you were the CAPTAIN? You will probably SAVE everyone‘s life before YOU. The lesson is, sometimes in life there are circumstances that we don’t only need to think about ourselves. That sometimes we need to accept the fact that what we do will affect other’s life. That sometimes, we need sacrifice ourselves to save other. That sometimes we need to protect what we have for survival. That if we were the CAPTAIN of the SHIP, we sometimes do selfless things to protect others. Most of all we take good care of the SHIP and be aware of the danger to prevent it from SINKING. To know how does it feel require us to be in a situation. But with empathy we will learn to understand the feeling of being there. EMPATHY – to put ourselves in one’s shoes to understand them.
