What would you like to know about the new Pet Passport Scheme? With the changes to the Pet Passport Scheme coming in from December 2014, we are holding a Q&A session with Defra (Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs). The changes aim to combat the number of pets illegally imported into the UK on fake passports bringing a risk of disease with them. The changes include: a minimum age for rabies vaccinations, laminated strips to prevent passport forgeries, vet’s details to be recorded and retained by the vet so that they can be traced easily, and new rules for individuals travelling with more than five pets (those travelling to a competition are exempt).
