~ Whatever the reasoning behind Patriarch Sako to demand these priests to return, I find it interesting how this priest in California uses the Bible or God to justify his actions. He says in another article that he is doing what the Bible teaches him to do and uses the example of when Joseph and Mary fled to Egypt in fear of Jesus being killed... With all do respect sir, you are not Jesus and if you want to compare yourself with Jesus, then you would not be afraid to die for your faith and for God and you would go back to where you belong. If you are preaching to the world there is eternal life and heaven is real, then show your faith to the people and return; but then again why would he return to Iraq when he is living a lavish lifestyle with people catering to him??? He is not a servant, he enjoys being SERVED. Then we have this politician Mark Arabo speaking up saying the people will not allow these priests to return?? Speak for yourself and not the people and since when do politicians make decisions for the church? This is what happens when you mix power, politics and God together. You get a greedy hypocrite priest that has rich politicians supporting him and you have rich crooked politicians thinking they are above God. Great way to be an example of your faith. While men, women and children are being slaughtered for Christs sake, we have a priest who unlawfully fled to America during trying times. Dont expect to gather sheep when the shepherd has run from his duties. I would have the utmost respect for this priest if he came out and said that although he fears for his life and does not agree with the patriarch, that he would return to be with the people who are suffering and give them strength and die a martyr, but instead he chooses the cowardly way. What a great example you are! The ENTIRE Chaldean Catholic church needs reform ~
