Whats actually in the products hairdressers use? How dangerous are - TopicsExpress

Whats actually in the products hairdressers use? How dangerous are they? I strongly believe in limiting exposure to dangerous chemicals wherever possible- for my clients, but also for myself :) The colours used at Hair On The Bay are by Jeval Italy, and only contain 1% ammonia- keeping clients hair in better condition, while reducing chemical exposure. I also stock Jeval shampoo and conditioner, which is all Sulfate and Paraben free! Allergic reactions to Sulfates (eg Sodium Laureth Sulfate), are common. Another chemical that is highly toxic, yet found in many Keratin smoothing systems, is formaldehyde. I chose to use Guava Latino Keratin Smoothing System in the salon, as it is 100% formaldehyde free! Formaldehyde is a known carcinogen- it has been linked to nasal and lung cancer, with possible links to brain cancer and leukemia. For more information on the Guava system, follow the link :) guavahair/index.php/products/latino-keratin-smoothing-system
