Whats on my mind? My self esteem. This is truly on my mind, and I am trying to figure it out. : I wish I could show you all, how I was back in 1995. I was in fifth grade. I had multiple speech impairments, and impediments. There is a distinctive difference between the two. But, I was unlucky enough to have both. I spoke a language that would baffle the best linguistic expert. Lol I made up my own language, and used it so much that my younger brother learned my bad habits. Lol he was quick to unlearn them but I wasnt so lucky. My seventh grade year I had the privilege of having a speech therapist who knew what she was doing, and how to teach someone with my background. I was born with a cleft lip... And a cleft pallet. My upper lip and the roof of my mouth had a big gaping hole. So yeah, I had a lot of surgeries. I had a lot of doctors. So naturally I had a lot of issues. But the only reason I can speak so well, and why I enjoy talking so much, is because of that speech teacher. So yeah, I had a lot of self esteem issues then. Plus I was small.. smart... And a smart ass. Lol of course I got picked on.. The best thing for my life, and my confidence, was the Marine Corps. :) beat that!. ... I got to do a lot of fun things...awesome training, ..blew shit up. saw the world.(Japan, Korea, Guam, Iraq, Kuwait, Mexico, 29 palms, Camp Lejeune, Pendleton, San Diego , etc.Etc ).. so many experiences... And life is great... But, I am no longer in the Marines. And I have had flash backs, and regressive moments, back to those days where I was the smallest, and the most insignificant person. . . . . . . And I am just trying to remember whats important. But, I have ran into a roadblock or two!! Im learning, Im improving, and Im always changing ...... .. . . . . . . .. .. . ....... . . . . . . . :)
