Whats on your mind facebook asks? Well, you asked for it- When - TopicsExpress

Whats on your mind facebook asks? Well, you asked for it- When people suffer, what does the Foundation for Reason and Logic provide? When real people have no means to hold themselves up, when they are faced with a problem science cannot give them an answer to eg: Elliot in the hospital right now, tell me, what scientific answer will give (someone who is watching their loved one hurting without reason why) peace, or strength, or hope, or love, or courage? What is more important? Being right and proving someone else is wrong in what they believe? No. Jesus didn’t tell us to get in to fights over having the last word and being right. He didn’t even say that the burden of proof lay on us to prove that He exists. He told us to share the good news!! Jesus told us the most important thing is to love your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength, and love your neighbor as yourself. Jesus coined “all you need is love”, not the beatles, sorry, and I promise you he can give you a much more comprehensive answer on what it means to love too. Yes, intelligent discussion needs to take place. Yes, we need to be able to debate, and argue, and reason and use logic. We need to study history. We need to assess our own assumptions. We need to rethink our interpretations of things. We NEED to ask questions, we need to push towards our doubts. We need to listen to one another. We need to study, we need to research, we need to work, because nothing in life worth knowing comes with an easy answer. Sometimes the answer is simple, yet in its simplicity, it is complex enough to allow you to spend your whole life studying it and never reach the end of it. That is what the gospel is to me. So beautiful, so simple, yet SO complex in its implication! In the end, everything considered, I don’t see what more I could ever want or ask for then the love of God and to be able to love Him in return. To be commanded two things: to love the Lord my God with all my heart, my soul and my strength, and to love you, my neighbor. And this is what comes out of my brain while researching Manichaeism, Richard Dawkin’s- The God Delusion and the life of St. Augustine. Go figure. Thank you facebook wall for the place to let it all out, now back to my research paper. I cant handle my own brain sometimes.
