WhatsApp Lets You Disable Read Receipts, You Can Safely Ignore Peoples Nagging Again الواتساب تتيح منع عرض إشعارات قراءة الرسائل Remember when WhatsApp turned on its Read Receipts feature last week and caused panic all over the world? Well, the company wants nothing to do with your lover quarrels or business disputes — He ignored my WhatsApp messages! isnt a court-accepted argument, it seems. So to avoid becoming the second largest cause of divorce, WhatsApp is preparing another update to its app that should make the new feature optional. Version 2.11.44 (which is only available on WhatsApps site for now) has a new menu under Settings, Privacy. A checkmark for Read Receipts lets you enable the option or turn it off. In that case, WhatsApp will no longer show other people when you read their messages, but it will also stop you from seeing the blue checkmarks for all of your conversations. Thats WhatsApps way of keeping things fair, like it did with the Last Seen status — you cant lurk in the dark and snoop on other people. Groups chats wont be affected, other participants will always know when you read a message. As is customary with WhatsApp, this version is available through the services website first. It may hit the Play Store soon or you may have to wait for a few more bug fixes to see it there. Weve also been told that this version adds heads-up notifications on Android 5.0 Lollipop, but since I only use Whatsapp on my KitKat-running LG G3, I wasnt able to verify that. Many commenters are also reporting that profile photos are showing up in circles on Lollipop, as opposed to squares (with slightly rounded corners) on previous Android versions. بعد الذعر الذي أصاب مستخدمي واتساب مؤخراً حول ميزة إمكانية معرفة صديقك إن كنت قد قرأت رسالته وتجاهلتها أم لم تقرأها بعد، أطلقت واتساب تعديل جديد في الخصوصية على نفس مبدأ ما قامت به مع آخر ظهور، الآن يمكنك أن تمنع معرفة أصدقائك إن كنت قد قرأت رسالتهم وتجاهلتها، لكنك أنت أيضاً لن تتمكن من معرفة إن قرأوا رسالتك وتجاهلوها، أي ستكون الخصوصية على الطرفين وبهذا تتحقق العدالة فلا أنا أعرف إن قرأت رسالتي ولا أنت تعرف إن قرأت رسالتك. وفي التحديث الجديد ظهر خيار ضمن إعدادات الخصوصية وهو اشعارات القراءة Read Receipts وعند إزالة الإشارة عنها فلن تتمكن من معرفة إن قرأ أصدقائك رسالتك وكذلك لن تتلقى علامتي الصح الزرقاء التي تفيد بأنه قرأ رسالتك أيضاً. لكن هذه الخصوصية لن تطبق على المحادثات الجماعية بل ستقتصر على المحادثات الفردية حالياً حيث سيتمكن دائماً أعضاء المجموعة من معرفة من قام بقراءة الرسائل و توقيت ذلك أيضاً. ومع بدء إطلاق أندرويد 5 المصاصة لأجهزة نيكسوس و وصوله لبعض أجهزة موتورولا أيضاً أصبح الواتساب يدعم طريقة الاشعارات الجديدة حيث تظهر من أعلى الشاشة بدلاً من منتصفها، كما أفاد بعض المستخدمين أن شكل صورة الملف الشخصي أصبح دائرياً بدلاً من الشكل المربع مع حواف ناعمة في النسخ السابقة.
