Wheekers is going to remain open, but there are a few changes in effect immediately. We take in guinea pigs and guinea pigs ONLY! If you do need to rehome another species of animal, we will try very hard to find someone that can help you further. You may come to the rescue by appointment only (NO EXCEPTIONS) and that appointment needs to be made 2 days in advance (no more calling the night before or day of and wanting to come to the rescue. If you want to give donations you need to call 219-841-2486 and work on arrangements prior to donating. Lastly please do your research before adopting any animal from any rescue because its a huge step and not something to take lightly. We still have 5 rabbits and 1 hamster looking for forever homes.
