When Ben was a young teen I worked with several guys who had boys about the same age. We started going to the Illinois river for a father/son float trip on fathers day each year. We would go down on Sunday, spend the night camping with the boys then float the river on Monday when it was not so crowded. One year us Dads conspired to get the boys into a marshmallow roasting contest. The boys would carefully toast marshmallows over the fire and then bring them to one of the judges sitting in the lawn chairs with a beer in one hand, and taste and judge the marshmallows for color, texture, and doneness throughout. It was a really good contest until Ben finally yelled GUYS, they are just playing us to get our marshmallows! It was good while it lasted.
