When Dianne and I got married there were so many dear special - TopicsExpress

When Dianne and I got married there were so many dear special friends and family there it was standing room only. We were so impressed by the out pouring of love. At the wedding we had a dear friend, Val Peterson, read some poetry. One of the poems he read was one that I had penned a few days before. This poem has been a pattern for our marriage. We love each other far more now than we did then. This poetry has more meaning to us now than it did then. For those who were not able to attend or have not heard of it I will post a copy with the statement that she is more beautiful and loving as each day goes by. How I love her. THE MARRIAGE Marriage isnt something that happens just one day Is celebrated, toasted and then let go its way No, marriage takes commitment, hard work, and love and tears And with these special ingredients, it grows through endless years Marriage is a covenant between a man, his wife and God If all are equal partners, joyful paths are trod It isnt fame or fortune or even being renown That makes a marriage successful or makes the world go round Its the little things we say and do with focus on our mate That builds a marriage strong and true, for this theres no debate Marriage isnt easy, there will be toil and strife But when each challenge is mastered were polished for a better life Obstacles will come our way and even hills to climb But with love together well conquer all and have a joy sublime Because I love you so, I pledge with all my heart To honor, love and cherish you right from the very start And when the curtain falls on my life here on earth I hope this beautiful marriage will be a measure of my worth I love you, I love you, I love you so very much
