When I arrived at See and her husbands home, she embraced me in - TopicsExpress

When I arrived at See and her husbands home, she embraced me in her arms and we hugged each other warmly, laughing with pure joy. Her daughter, Chenda, had already grown so much since I last saw them in April of last year, as well as her two sons, Virak and Phearum. Reem Sav Sees husband, Vann Lat, clutched my hand and led me up the stairs to the top of their home to rest and chat with them. See and I stared at each other in disbelief, both so thankful to be in each others presence. After her dream, she was uncertain how I was doing and whether I would make it to Areng. She had lit incense praying that I was well. Looking back on the last few days, that first day was really the beginning of our understanding of one another and a special friendship I never imagined I would find so deep in Areng Valley, as See and her husband not only opened their lives to me but we revealed our deepest and most innermost thoughts to each other. We discovered our similar appreciation for quiet, for reflection, and for nature, resting in a world of laughter, love, and poetry. © 2015 Kalyanee Mam
