When I asked my old friend Jerry Todd to design a Crimson Rose poster, he was a little perplexed. His kind of music was East Village punk, if Jerry Garcia walked down the street Im not even sure hed recognize him; still Jerry (Todd) was (and is) a talented artist. He asked me about the GD iconography and I told him skull and roses. I got a poster that was a lot edgier than I expected. Thats what happens when you take an East Village punk artist and have him do a poster for a band that plays Palo Alto hippie music. BTW, this is one of the few relics in the archives that mention the short lived music club in Port Chester called Orleans. Does anyone remember Orleans?
