When I first became a Christian more than 40 years ago, I was unwise in some areas. I regret “preaching” to my parents. If I had it again, I would have waited longer than two weeks, and would rather have shown my faith by my works rather than by my words. Having said that, having everlasting life and not being able to share it with those you love is one of the hardest things in the world. As a new Christian I had John 3:1-16 professionally painted in 2-inch high wording on the front window of my business. I had something similar on my wall. I had Bible verses professionally painted onto the sides of my car. I also had a Bible billboard placed on the front lawn of our house. I shared the gospel with anyone who would listen, and stood on a soapbox and preached almost daily in the heart of our city for 12 years. If anyone could be considered a fanatic in those days, it was me. Nowadays, I’m much worse. May I never be even slightly ashamed of the gospel of everlasting life.
